The Half Moon is a beautiful Grade II Listed building in Kirdford, West Sussex, dating back to the 15th century. Lovingly restored to its former glory with modern twists, The Half Moon is a labour of love by Jodie Kidd the former international supermodel, turned TV chef. Jodie balances her hectic work life with being the heartbeat of the new Pub and Restaurant.
Not only is Jodie involved in all the menu design and creation of dishes she also cooks and hosts her very own Curry and Quiz night each held once a month at the Pub (now fully booked from two months out). Half Moon guests can expect flavour and quality to be at the centre of everything with quality British produce enhanced by global flavours inspired by Jodie’s travels.
It is through Jodie’s love of the Village and Pub that she holds the key to the Half Moon Kirdford - Jodie even held her 21st Birthday party at the Property and ever since then she has had a love and affection for the property that enticed her into purchasing it and within 6 months has transformed it from a sleepy village Pub to a destination Pub Restaurant that locals and guests from further afield can’t get enough of.
Organic, local, refined rustic country cuisine is her food ethos using the best of the Sussex downs suppliers including using "Trenchmore Farm Wagyu beef” to their very own sustainably shot Vension.
Jodie changes the menus weekly which means we are as seasonal as it gets which is inspired by the kitchen and herb gardens that Jodie and her Mum hand planted between them.
I would certainly say Pub in the Park is up there with one of best things I have ever done, the atmosphere and buzz over those 3 days was just electric and I felt so lucky to be a part of it all. All in all, we served around 4000 dishes over the 3 days, the most popular being the Mackerel Taco which sold out on each session, I couldn’t have asked for a better crowd though as they were all willing to try the other dishes we had to offer. One of my favourite moments had to be that I got to celebrate my birthday which was on the Sunday In such an incredible way, meeting a huge amount of kind and wonderful people as well as watching The Milk who are one of my favourite bands.
Wow - what an incredible, amazing weekend! The vibe was fantastic; the food was stunning, the music outstanding, but above all else, the people of Marlow made the whole event feel very special. It showed off our lovely town to all our visitors and the chefs from all over the country and did us proud.
