THE CROWN AT BRAY

The Crown started life in the 16th century as two cottages and later became an inn, where it was known for supplying beer to villagers in Bray and the surrounding area.

Rumour has it that Charles II would often call in for a drink when visiting his mistress Nell Gwynn at Holyport.

Since Heston Blumenthal acquired the pub in 2010, it has enjoyed subtle improvements but the character of the old building, with its low-beamed ceilings and open fireplaces, remain untouched.

Hestonʼs desire was always to preserve the intimate, local feel of a well-used pub, whilst serving excellent food. The building provides an informal backdrop to a wonderfully relaxed eating and drinking experience.

The Crown offers tasty, British pub food with carefully sourced seasonal ingredients to create simple, hearty dishes.

In the summer, guests can enjoy food and drink outside in the picturesque courtyard and large garden, which has recently been transformed to include an outside kitchen and bar.
