THANK YOU MARLOW!

We launched Meals from Marlow on Friday 3rd April. We are delighted to confirm that as of May 17th we have hit our fundraising target of £175,000. This will enable us to deliver meals until the end of June and to deliver over 75,000 meals, an amazing acheivement for one small community.

It has all been made possible by the generosity of both donations and spirit of local people, Tom’s amazing team, the Town Council, the lovely church volunteers, The Link Foundation and the team at Pub In The Park. It’s been brilliant to see so many people who hadn’t previously met come together to achieve so much in such a short space of time. That said, it still feels like the very least we can do for those who are in need and for those who are looking after us and putting themselves at risk.

“I know the people of Marlow are a very generous group but I’m astonished by the speed and the level of kindness. People realise that as well as looking after our own neighbours the front line is in the big hospitals where NHS teams are doing astonishing work. Thank you Marlow I’m proud of you.” - Tom Kerridge

Donations have come from individuals as well as organisations large and small from Marlow and the area. Your generosity has overwhelmed us. Tom was almost moved to tears when he got a call from the Shanly Foundation, an organisation deeply committed to the town and the area who have donated an amazing £25,000.

Every contribution is going towards supporting our frontline heroes and people in needs.

Thank you and keep safe.

HOW IT WORKS

The Meals from Marlow initiative is to be operated entirely by volunteers and is not for profit.

Tom has kindly donated his production kitchen and will be supervising food production and hygiene.

Professional Chefs will band together, donating their time and effort to help Tom and the team.

Admin staff and management is being provided by Pub In The Park and Andy Agar, free of charge.

NOMINATE A NEIGHBOUR

This initiative also enables anyone in Marlow and its surrounding area to nominate a person in need and to then assist in the collection and delivery of their meals.

If you know anyone in need, be it family, friend or neighbour, you can now nominate them to receive a meal from us.*

QUESTIONS ABOUT MEALS FROM MARLOW

Can we support the cause in other ways?

Yes! If you are local and want to volunteer to help Meals on Marlow in other ways, please contact us via [email protected] to find out more.

Can we nominate someone to receive a meal?

Yes. We encourage you to nominate a deserving neighbour who may be elderly, disabled or otherwise vulnerable and to then assist in the collection and delivery of their meals.

When can meals be collected for nominees?

You’ll be given a time slot when your order is confirmed.

Where are meals collected from?

The Causeway, Marlow SL7 2AA from outside the George & Dragon pub.

Can we nominate more than one household?

Yes, but one at a time. The form will need to be completed for each household you wish to nominate.

Can we nominate a couple/family?

Yes.

Is collecting a meal a one-off, or are they received daily/weekly?

Initially meals will be delivered on a one-off basis. If you feel the person(s) you are nominating need more regular meals please let us know when we respond to your nomination.  We cannot guarantee regular meals, but we will try in the most urgent cases.

Can a nominated person receive more than one meal?

On a different day, yes. But not on the same day.

If I am unable to deliver the meal to my nominee, can you?

We have a wonderful team of volunteer drivers and, in most cases, subject to demand, we anticipate we will be able to deliver if you are not able to collect.

Which local areas does the Meals from Marlow Nomination Scheme support?

As meals need to be collected from the centre of Marlow, we are restricting this service to residents of Marlow and the surrounding villages.

What days of the week do you operate?

We operate 7 days a week. Our current aim is to provide meals for a total of 8 weeks.
