2020 DATES TO BE ANNOUNCED
THE LAMBING SHED, KNUTSFORD
Situated in a picturesque village on the edge of the North Yorkshire Moors, a couple of miles outside the market town of Helmsley, this much loved, Michelin-starred Inn has origins believed to date back to the 14th Century.
Once described as 'absurdly pretty', the thatched pub with its low beams and wonky walls (which mean the pictures won't hang straight!) has centuries of hospitality steeped into its very timbers.
Chef/Director, Andrew Pern, regards himself as just a chapter in The Star's long history, despite being the owner of the pub since 1996, when it was acquired in a near derelict state. Since that time it has not only been restored, whilst maintaining and enhancing its abundant character, but it has picked up a long list of prestigious awards and expanded to incorporate a hotel just across the road…
Cross House Lodge, The Star's nine-bedroomed hotel was converted from some former farm buildings and joined the family in 2002 after extensive renovation work to create shooting lodge-style accommodation with the option of private dining in the Wheelhouse (also licensed for weddings).
The Star has held a Michelin Star for 16 years. 2021 marks the 25th year of Andrew's tenure.
