Chef Atul Kochhar has been at the forefront of Indian fine-dining in the UK for nearly 30 years and was the first Indian chef to receive the prestigious Michelin star accolade in 2001, followed by a second in 2007.

Atul Kochhar’s contemporary style and love of traditional cooking techniques led him to open his own group of successful restaurants around the UK, in London, Kent, Berkshire and Buckinghamshire. These include Kanishka and Masalchi in London, Sindhu at The Compleat Angler and Vaasu, both in Marlow, Indian Essence in Petts Wood, Hawkyns in Amersham, Riwaz in Beaconsfield and Saga, a modern fine dining restaurant in Gurgaon, India. The chef also runs a nationwide bespoke catering company, Amod Events, offering sensational Indian cuisine to small and large groups – ideal for weddings, corporate hospitality, charitable events and any occasion deserving first-class and flavourful catering.

His latest restaurant, Riwaz in the market town of Beaconsfield champions the traditions and history of India through a British lens, paying homage to the chef’s upbringing and taking guests on a culinary journey through the states of Bihar, Jharkhand, Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Tamil Nadu, West Bengali, and Orissa using the finest locally sourced ingredients.
